MASTER ASSIGNMENTÂ
Metal matrix composite (MMC) are popular materials in mechanical engineering. They combine the best mechanical properties of matrix and added particles, so that MMC can perform well when high stiffness and wear resistance are required for structural elements subjected to high loading conditions (fatigue, elevated temperature). MMC are used in aerospace and automotive industry (disc brakes, driveshafts, bicycle frame). In this thesis, a candidate will perform numerical analysis of metal matrix composite and analyse the influence of each components on the mechanical properties.
