Antonio Gogeascoechea has been awarded the IEEE Brain Best Paper Award 2021

Antonio Gogeascoechea has been awarded the IEEE Brain Best Paper Award 2021 for his conference paper titled “Identification of Motor Unit Twitch Properties in the Intact Human In Vivo”. In this work, Antonio proposes a modelling framework to better translate neural information into muscle force in intact humans in vivo.

This is the second award and third nomination that Antonio has received during his PhD, after the prestigious ISEK 2020 Student Oral Presentation Award and the IEEE EMBC 2021 Best Paper Award nomination

Antonio is a third-year PhD candidate in the Neuromechanical Modelling and Engineering Lab directed by Prof. dr. Massimo Sartori. His work focuses on understanding how motoneurons are altered with impairment, and how they respond to electrical and mechanical stimuli.
