- Best Paper Award for Maura Eveld at the 10th BioRob 2024Maura Eveld has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the IEEE RAS EMBS 10th International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics (BioRob 2024), held from 1-4 September 2024 in Heidelberg.
Her paper was chosen from over 300 submissions to this year’s conference. In this paper, she introduced a novel control algorithm for ankle exoskeletons, known as disturbance cancellation, designed to assist wearers counteract perturbations. This assistance led to a 32% increase in performance and a 16% reduction in human effort compared to not receiving assistance.
