PROGRAMME COMMITTEES IN THE BMS FACULTY

In the bustling corridors of the BMS Faculty, there exists a group of dedicated individuals who serve as the backbone of educational quality and improvement – the Programme Committees. These committees are not just another cog in the academic machine; they are a vital link between students, teaching staff, and programme management. They play a pivotal role in advising on promoting and safeguarding the quality of our educational programmes, making invaluable contributions that shape the educational experience.

Educational quality is our mission. In constructive and, at times, critical conversations, we monitor and advise on the educational quality of education within BMS.

Andreas Weber, Progamme Committee Chair PSTS

For students, becoming a part of a Programme Committee is not just an opportunity but an enriching experience.

Participating in the Programme Committee stands out as one of the most engaging experiences a student can have during their studies. Not only did I have the chance to better understand all the educational matters, but I also acquired valuable insights into the decision-making process, course design, and evaluation process. This experience made me realize the amount of effort that is behind every course that we take, and it was genuinely nice to see that the feedback given by the students is considered and implemented when designing future courses. Based on my personal experience, I strongly encourage students to join their Programme Committee not only because they are actively part of the changes that are being made, but also because it is an experience that fosters personal growth and learning..

As the academic year unfolds, we extend a warm welcome to new members joining the programme committees. It's an exciting time when fresh faces join the ranks, bringing with them new perspectives and ideas. Two weeks ago, 22 new members of the programme committees took part in a training session led by Frank van den Berg from CELT, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in their roles.
