Become the fastest cyclist of the UT at the Tour for Life WAHOO Sprint Challenge

Challenge yourself and your friends and family during the WAHOO Sprint Challenge. On Friday, June 17, between 3 pm and 8 pm you can test your cycling skills during the Tour for Life WAHOO Sprint Challenge. Compete against all the other staff members, students and others who want to do an extreme effort on the (indoor) bike. The Sprint Challenge is organised by the Tour for Life team of the University of Twente, who with their participation in the charity race Tour for Life in August raise money for cancer research.

How does it work?

After a good warm-up, you take place on one of the Kickr-bikes. These are made available by WAHOO. On this hypermodern indoor bike, you ride an online segment as fast as you can. Every participant will ride the same course. The challenge will take place in the canteen of the Sports Centre on campus.

At the end of the day, we will make up the rankings. In cooperation with the sponsors, a nice prize package has been put together, whereby the first three in the men's and women's categories receive a nice prize. The prizes are, among others, made available by RunX and FC Twente. But even if you suspect not to compete for the prizes, the Sprint Challenge is a great event to take part in!

Tour for Life

Participants pay a contribution of five euros per attempt they make. Would you like to ride more often? That is allowed. The complete proceeds of the WAHOO Sprint Challenge go to Tour for Life. At the end of August, nine UT-ers will battle against the elements during Tour for Life, a five-day cycling tour covering 1,300 kilometres from Bardonecchia in Italy to Valkenburg. On the way they will have to conquer many mountains: the route has no less than 19,000 altitude metres. Read more about the team and their motivation here.

Sign up for the challenge

Although there may be places available when you come to walk in, it is best if you sign up in advance. That way you can be sure of a spot at a time that suits you. You can sign up via the link below. There, you will find more extensive information about the challenge.

Don't want to cycle, but still want to support? You can do so by making a donation on the website of Tour for Life.
