International Dimensions of our university in action

The International Dimensions white paper describes the UT’s ambitions for an international, people first university of technology. It was presented only four months ago to the University Council by the Executive Board. On 16 December, 50 enthusiastic representatives from the UT community participated in an online workshop to kick off the collaborative realisation of these ambitions.

Different UT groups prepared a pitch of their initiative: student associations ESN, AIESEC and the Student Union, as well as all five faculties and various service departments. A total of twelve different initiatives and project proposals were discussed in working groups, followed by a plenary part to share key takeaways. We enjoyed seeing contributions from students (e.g., on the buddy program, inclusion, and employability) and staff (e.g., decentralised mobility office, international classroom, capacity development and wellbeing). The outcomes range from specific advice on developing an idea further to connections and synergies between activities and concrete support for projects.

Second workhop

A second workshop is planned for 3 March 2022. Details on that session will be shared in late January. If you are interested in participating or pitching an initiative contributing to the UT’s International Dimensions, please let us know by contacting Fred de Vries (fred.devries@utwente.nl) or anyone else in the International team of Strategy & Policy.
