We have received reports of (possible) phone scams. Students (many from India) are being contacted by fraudsters and pressured to transfer money in order to prevent being expelled from the Netherlands.
There are also reports about Chinese students in the Netherlands being phoned by people claiming to be employees of the Chinese embassy and asking them for their personal- and bank details.
Please do not supply this kind of information over the phone and do not transfer any money. If, in case you have supplied them with information or a money transfer, we urge you to report the scam to the police.
