Ramses Wessel appointed as Professor European Law at University of Groningen

After almost twenty years, Professor Ramses Wessel leaves the University of Twente to return to the university where he once studied, the University of Groningen (RUG), now as a professor of European Law.

During his time at the UT, he fulfilled various roles. As Programme Director, he was one of the initiators of the European Studies programme and the collaboration with the University of Münster. After this position, Ramses was successively interim Dean of the former Faculty of Management & Governance and Dean of educational innovation.

Most UT staff and students will know Ramses Wessel as the driving force behind the introduction of the Twente Education Model (TOM), where he has been working on with great passion for many years as Dean of educational innovation. Ramses Wessel himself has this to say: “I am still very proud of TOM. We created something innovative here and the evaluations show that it is really bearing fruit. ”

The professor is also content with the educational programme where he is actively involved in himself. "The latest national student survey shows that the European Studies master's degree developed as one of the best programmes at the UT and it is good to see what our team has achieved," says Wessel himself.

The Executive Board is grateful to Ramses Wessel for everything he has done for the UT in 20 years and wishes him every success in his new position.
