On March 6th, the Executive Board adopted the new version of the privacy policy. This is an important development because the privacy policy of the University of Twente ensures the protection of personal data of our employees and students.
The new version of the privacy policy is based on a new model developed by SURF. SURF is a collaboration of educational and research institutions in the Netherlands and has developed a model privacy policy that aligns with laws, regulations, and current developments in privacy protection. The policy of the University of Twente now aligns better with this model.
Furthermore, the policy is now more in line with the actual situation at the UT and is more aligned with policy principles. This means that the policy better reflects how we handle personal data and does more justice to the interests of our employees and students.
We believe it is important that you are well-informed about the privacy policy of the University of Twente, and we would like to remind you of the possibility to ask questions about the policy. You can contact your privacy contact person or the data protection officer. More information about privacy and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) can be found on www.utwente.nl/privacy.
We hope that we have provided you with sufficient information.
