UT guests also use Multi-Factor Authentication 12-10-2021

We hereby inform you that as of October 12th, 2021, UT Guests must also use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to access IT applications at the University of Twente (UT). With MFA we added an extra verification step to ensure that your data is well protected. However, this concerns only guests with whom Office documents and/or Teams sites have been shared and these persons have been informed by e-mail.

Why Multi-Factor Authentication?
The University of Twente responds to the ever-increasing cyber threats and requires the use of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Which applications require MFA?
MFA is required for all IT applications including Microsoft 365.

Please, follow the instructions to set up MFA.

We recommend adding a second verification method (to do so please check the manual).

Is my smartphone suitable for MFA?
To install the Microsoft Authenticator app on a smartphone, Android version 6.0 or iOS version 11.0 is required. When using an older version, set up MFA via SMS. Check the FAQ for more information.
