Niki Matinrad visiting PhD student at CHOIR

From February until May Niki Matinrad (Linköping University, Sweden) is visiting CHOIR.

Niki Matinrad is a PhD student at division of Communication and Transport Systems, Department of Science and Technology in Linköping University, Sweden. She is also a PhD student of CARER, Center for Advanced Research in Emergency Response, a research center that is a collaboration between Linköping University and Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB). Niki has a background in industrial engineering prior to her PhD studies and had focused on disaster management and humanitarian supply chain and logistics. Within her PhD studies, however, she focuses on daily emergency logistics and studies the use of new types of resources, such as volunteers, in response to daily medical emergencies. She uses operations research (OR) to develop models and methods for this purpose. Niki will be a visiting researcher in CHOIR from February 15 until May 15, 2020 and will be working with Derya Demirtas on the problem of dispatch of volunteers to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients.
