housing for incoming exchange students

Entry visa and/or residence permit

Only exchange students needing an entry visa and/or residence permit coming to the University of Twente will receive an offer for accommodation for the period of the programme. During your admission process, you will receive an e-mail containing a hyperlink to register for a housing offer from our housing department.

You are free to decline this offer. If you decline the offer, you have to search for accommodation yourself. Please see our overview of external housing parties in the region.

No entry visa and/or residence permit

If you are an incoming exchange student who doesn't require an entry visa and/or residence permit, the UT will assist you in finding accommodation by providing you with our overview on which several external parties in the region are listed that offer housing.

Please note that the Housing department of the University of Twente does not offer you a room, when you don’t require an entry visa and/or residence permit.

The city of Enschede – which is very popular amongst students – has a competitive housing market. We strongly recommend you to inform yourself about the Dutch housing market for students, and to start your search for a room in time.
