Abstracts

The ARREST registry on OHCA: past, present and future - Hans van Schuppen (Amsterdam UMC)

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a time-critical condition and a challenge for science and clinical care. Real-world data on resuscitation attempts are the key to unlock both the clinical and scientific challenge. The ARREST (AmsteRdam RESuscitation STudies) group prospectively collects data on all OHCA in North-Holland since 2005. This led to one of the largest databases with high-quality data on resuscitation in the world. Dr. Hans van Schuppen is the director of resuscitation science of ARREST and will summarize the key findings in the past, the projects that ARREST is currently working on and the future direction.

Recent developments in StanCPR and HartslagNu. - Tom Kooy (StanCPR)

The HartslagNu network is integrated in the Dutch EMS response for OHCA. In this talk we will discuss the current status of the network, upcoming features, on-going research projects and challenges to replicate the results in other European regions.

An impact-analysis for the RAV's with respect to the 90% multi-trauma standard. - Geert Jan Kommer (RIVM)

In the Netherlands, in some regions and for several reasons, a number of multi-trauma patients are presented at regional hospitals instead of level-1 trauma centres and the standard of 90% presentation is not realised. In the impact-analyses we estimate the risk at regional level when multi-trauma patients would be presented at the level-1 trauma centres. We will determine the extra drivetime and estimate the possibility for an emergency call during this extra drive time. We make us of logistic data of ambulance services in the Netherlands over the period 2017-2021.
