Cristiane Vilas Boas received Best EMRS2019 Poster Award

The understanding of the physics of nanoscale systems is a prime goal of the Industrial Focus Group XUV Optics. This includes the stability of oxide surfaces under degrading environments. This topic is of crucial importance in the many areas where oxides can be applied, ranging from electrochemistry, to catalysis and microelectronics.

The results related to this topic were presented at the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) Symposium on synthesis, processing and characterization of nanoscale multi functional oxide films, held in Nice from the 27th to 31st of June 2019. The importance of the topic, the detailed understanding of the methodology and the clarity of the presentation, resulted in PhD student Cristiane Vilas Boas getting the Best Poster Award for the presentation entitled "Room temperature charge-induced oxygen exchange in transition metal oxides verified by LEIS ".

This topic is part of a project developed in collaboration with industrial partner Carl Zeiss SMT and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
