Nanobiophysics publication in ACS: Jounal of Physics Chemistry B Quantitative Determination of Dark Chromophore Population Explains the Apparent Low Quantum Yield of Red Fluorescent Proteins

Members of the Nanobiophics group recelty published in ACS Physics of Chemisry. B were the Quantum Efficeinty of Red Fluorescent proteins is measuerd by controlling the single fluorescent optical enviroment. By doing so the real (bright) quantum efficiency appears much higher as expected, The lower respons is is explained by a significant high absorbing non emitting proteins. RFP's appear to have as a significant dark fraction.
