Invited speaker lunch session with Antoinette Maassen van den Brink

On 8 September 2023 the OoCCT organised a lunch session while hosting Antoinette Maassen van den Brink. While everyone was enjoying lunch, she told us about her research in migraines, blood vessels and pharmacology and the challenges she faced while developing realistic blood vessel-on-chips.

Invited speaker

Antoinette Maassen van den Brink is professor of Pharmacology at the department of Internal Medicine at Eramus MC. She is studying neurovascular pharmacology with a special interest in the role of female sex hormones on the pathophysiology and cardiovascular risk of migraine. Her research is translational in origin, including animal in vivo experimental models, human isolated tissue models, as well as human in vivo clinical models.
