OoCCT visiting Body-on-Chip Centre Tampere University

In October the OoCCT management, consisting of scientific leads Liliana Moreira Teixeira and Andries van der Meer and programme manager Sanne de Wit, visited the national Centre of Excellence for Body-on-Chip research (CoEBoC), located at Tampere University, Finland.

From 21-25 October the OoCCT delegation was visiting both campusses of Tampere University and meeting with all PIs from their organ-on-chip centre CoEBoC. This visit was a result of a funding application at the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) of which both UT and Tampere University are a member. This allowed us to futher consolidate our ongoing collaborations between the two centres and initiate new topics for future, intensive collaborations.

In addition, that week CoEBoC hosted the FIN OoC, a conference dedicated to (mostly Finnish) organ-on-chip research. Andries van der Meer was a keynote speaker, opening the conference with his talk about platform technology.

In the coming months, the new ideas for joint research projects, education and funding will be developed. We hope to welcome our CoEBoC colleagues in Twente soon!
