New multifunctional workshop ET

While we are still working and studying from home most of the time, our housing is being worked on (read the previous mailing here). The preliminary design of the new multifunctional workshop has reached the final phase. Are you curious to see what it will look like? Watch the impression below and imagine yourself in the future ET environment. Besides that, you can also read other newsreels about our Faculty’s housing (part of the Long-Term Strategy for Housing)

* the preliminary design is just an impression of the space itself: the colours and the interior are yet to be decided.

Did you know?

  • … that we received 150 submissions to the naming competition? We will announce the winner and the new name of our multifunctional workshop in our next mailing.
  • … that the new multifunctional workshop has been funded partly by WSV funds? These funds are the result of the abolition of the basic student grant, which was converted from a gift to a loan. A budget has been released from the WSV funds to be used for the improvement of the quality of education.
  • … that action is being taken both in the short term and in the long term? Continue reading and find out more about large-scale renovations in the long run, as well as small improvements on short notice.

Renovation Horstring

Recently, representatives of the ‘Kleissen’ construction company have conducted conversations with many of you. They received a lot of enthusiastic input. This input is currently being processed in a report, which will include advise on future housing. The report will be presented by the summer of 2021.

Home base of ET: redevelopment of the Horstring

Ahead of the large-scale renovation, small improvements are being carried out at the moment.

  • additional seating in the Horstring (benches and train seats);
  • additional study places in the North and East of the Horst;
  • additional study places on the 2nd floor in the centre of the Horst

The next step will be to implement improvements to the entrance and cafetaria. The ultimate goal is to realise an appealing entrance that will feature showcases with which we can present our Faculty. We hope that you will soon be able to view the improvements with your own eyes!

Opening WH223

Did you know WH223 has already been renovated? Jutta Arens and Ali Sedeghi will start using this lab from April onwards.
