Developments Pavilion Zone

The UT's Long-term Housing Strategy 2030 stipulates that the Pavilion Zone will be further developed by renovating the current location of the service department Campus and Facility Management (CFM) and by renovating ‘De Boerderij’ as it will be the future location of the new Contact Centre. The renovation of ‘De Boerderij’ will start in the short term.

Renovation plans for the ‘Paviljoen’, in which CFM is housed, are in start-up phase. CFM will be temporarily accommodated in De Linde, as of 21 April. Besides, some colleagues from the Sports Centre, the back office and sports coordination, will also be located temporarily in De Linde, during the renovation and adjustments of the ventilation systems in the offices of the Sports Centre. The current tenant, Human Capital Care, the UT's health and safety service provider, has left this building on 1 April, 2021.

Renovation of ‘De Boerderij’ as future location for new Contact Centre
The Executive Board has decided to renovate ‘De Boerderij,’ the previous location of the Faculty Club. It will become the future site of the new Contact Centre. This Contact Centre will be a meeting place for (international) students and, in the future, also PhD candidates. A place where they can turn to with their questions and concerns and where they can meet each other. It will be a dedicated space on the Campus where students can receive individual attention.

In the Contact Centre, the service support departments CES (SAS, Student Services) and MC (SI, Student Information Centre) will collaborate to answer all student-related questions, in person, and also via digital channels and phone calls. The Contact Centre will include several flexible workplaces for other UT colleagues who offer support to students, such as exchange officers, study advisers, international support officers, study counsellors, student psychologists, career services, Student Union, among others.

The Contact Centre will be set up on a click-call-face system. As much information as possible will be made accessible on the internet, so that students can easily find answers to frequently asked questions, via email and a clear list with available telephone numbers. Importantly, there will always be room for personal contact and attention at the location itself.

Aligned with the Shaping2030 ambitions of the UT to create an open, inclusive and connecting mindset, the Contact Centre will also have a meeting purpose for students.

The renovation is scheduled to start in July this year. The aim is to move into the location by the end of 2021.

The design, which was made in collaboration Stef Mighelbrink (CFM) with Beltman Architecten and Dijkoraad, is now final. This animation gives an impression of the future Contact Centre, which is located in the heart of the "Paviljoen Zone" and thus makes a connection between the Education & Research Square and the Boulevard.
