about me
After an academic career of 40 years – 23 years at Delft University and 17 years at the University of Twente – I became emeritus professor in December 2016. My activities at the university of Twente have not yet come to an end however. I am still guiding a few PhD students on the following topics:
· shape optimization of a pin finned heat exchanger;
· the characterization and optimization of a bi-directional turbine for thermo-acoustic devices;
· a novel thermosiphon-like cooling system based on magnetocaloric nanofluids.
From April 2019 till November 2019 I was program director of the educational program Industrial Design Engineering.
Besides this I have an appointment for 1 day a month at Oversluizen Thermal Engeneering, and I work as a volunteer for PUM Senior Experts.
But most of all I enjoy life with my children and grandchildren, and on my bike.
