Finally, in 2025 the LIPSS workshop "comes home" to where it all started: the University of Twente!
After successful edition of the past workshops, for example in Orleans (2022), in Madrid (2023) and in Leipzig (2024), we're pleased to announce that the 13th International LIPSS workshop is back at the University of Twente in the Netherlands, from Wed. 29 - Fri. 31 October 2025.
ABOUT the LIPSS workshop
Surface texturing and structuring of materials at the micro- and nanoscale is attracting interest for advanced technologies and practical applications in various fields such as energy harvesting, functional surfaces, medicine and biological systems. Laser Induced Periodical Surface Structures (LIPSS) as a phenomenon for micro-/ nanostructuring surfaces on various materials such as metals, semiconductors, glass, polymers and ceramic are at the focus of numerous projects in many European and global institutions and research facilities. Publications highlighting LIPSS-related findings in a wide range of scientific journals indicate a continuous upward trend in the development of surface structuring.
SCOPE
The topics of the LIPSS workshop, include but are not limited to:
- Experimental studies of LIPSS formation on various materials
- Simulation studies and modelling of LIPSS formation
- Applications of LIPSS textures - where LIPSS textures are involved
- Improvement of LIPSS formation processes
Who should attend?
The LIPSS workshop 2025 invites researchers, scientists and students working on LIPSS at European and international universities, research centers and institutes, as well as in the private sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to bring their questions to leaders in the field and have fruitful and exting discussions. The workshop will take place in person (face-top-face) to ensure maximum and efficient interaction between participants.
A maximum number of 50 attendees can register.
