Marketing and Junk Food Empowering kids through marketing literacy to make healthier food choices

I had the pleasure of giving a lecture to school kids in Germany on how junk food, soda, and fast food are marketed to children. The goal was to help them understand the tactics used by the industry and empower them to make their own informed food decisions.

In most countries, there are no laws yet to protect children from these advertising techniques. This is why marketing literacy and empowerment are crucial in equipping children (and adults) with the knowledge to make healthier choices. πŸ’ͺ🍏🍎

It’s moments like these that highlight the power of education in shaping healthier, more informed communities. By empowering children with marketing literacy, we help them make better choices and drive positive social change. It’s a reminder of how impactful our research can be in promoting long-term well-being.
