🌍 Can Marketing Save the Planet?
That was the bold and thought-provoking question posed by Janina M. Schaumann during yesterday’s lunch talk in our Department of Design, Production and Management.
Let’s be honest: many of us are sceptical about marketing - and for good reason. It's often associated with overconsumption, greenwashing, and manipulation. But Janina challenged us to look deeper and ask: Can marketing also be a force for good?
With one of the highest turnouts we've ever had at a lunch talk, the audience was highly engaged. Her insights into purpose-driven marketing sparked lively discussions and prompted meaningful reflection on how we communicate sustainability, innovation, and impact.
💡 From demystifying the role of marketing to showcasing how it can support purpose-driven businesses, this session reminded us that changing the world isn’t just about having the right solution - it’s also about telling the right story.
🙏 A huge thank you to Janina for the inspiring talk, to all the attendees for the engaging questions and dialogue, and to the organisers for making it all happen.
