🌍 How do we create a truly inclusive community within our Engineering Technology Faculty?
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Francesca Toso for a thought-provoking lunch talk: "Invisible threads of belonging: A collective design reflection on DE&I for building inclusive communities."
While diversity is often associated with gender and race, the 2023 DE&I survey in our faculty revealed a limited perception of what diversity truly entails. But we know it's more than that. So how can we foster a working and learning environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive?
Francesca shared insights from her research as a @4TU.CEE Teaching & Learning Fellow, in collaboration with DesignLab University of Twente and the University Innovation Fellow network. Through reflection and discussion, we explored ways to broaden our understanding of diversity and take collective accountability for making DE&I a shared value in our faculty.
A huge thank you to Francesca Toso for an inspiring session and to everyone who joined the conversation! Let’s keep the momentum going.
