Background:
This project is about investigating the opportunities process mining can provide to an insurance company, in this case Univé. Univé is a cooperative nonprofit insurance company in the Netherlands. See: https://www.unive.nl/. Since 2020, Univé has a team Data & Analytics as part of the department Data & Finance that is located in the Univé main office in Zwolle nearby the Zwolle train station.
Assignment:
Process mining is not yet regularly used within insurance companies. The Univé Data & Analytics (DnA) Team would like to know in what way Univé can benefit from the application of process mining. This because many different processes can be identified within the Univé organization that might be enhanced by the application of process mining.
This master project has been dived into three different parts:
- The first part of the assignment is focused on researching what already has been done with process mining within insurances companies in general. For this, blogs, Twitter et cetera can be used. In the end, these findings will be substantiated and supplemented with findings found in literature. This should lead to an well-defined overview of the current use of process mining in the field of insurances.
- Next, a process mining roadmap for Univé will be worked out, containing ideas and opportunities seen for the Univé organization.
- The student can chose one of these ideas and work this idea out towards a prototype application to show the organization the opportunities of process mining for Univé. For this, the student can use GDPR compliant data provided by the company.
Profile of the student:
You need to have an interest in data & finance as an application field and be willing to interact with stakeholders within the Univé organization. Therefore it is needed to be able to speak Dutch. Knowledge of machine learning and AI is also required.
