Am I exempted from English language requirements?

It is important to understand that every case is assessed individually, and this information is not a guarantee. So, make sure to submit your application on time to find out if you are exempted or not. If you still need to take an additional English language test, you will need time to arrange it.

Result: The Netherlands

If you have a relevant higher eduacational degree from a Dutch accredited academic institution, you are exempt. Make sure your programme is accredited via the NVAO register.

Result: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States of America

If you have earned or will earn a three-year bachelor's degree and study physically for at least three years, you are exempt. 

Canadian degrees need at least 50% English instruction.

Result - ECHE exemption

You might be exempted from providing the proof of English language proficiency by providing the following exemption form provided by your home university, on which the English language proficiency is stated according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Please note, your English language proficiency must be at least at the same level as the English requirement.

In the one of the following countries: Australia, Canada (English-speaking part), Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States of America, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Austria, Romania, Slovakia, or Sweden.

If you had English as an exam subject during your secondary education, you are exempted from the mandatory language test. During your application, kindly provide us with a scan of your secondary school diploma and transcript of records in the original language and officially translated in English or Dutch.
