Scholarship programmes for UT students

There are a range of scholarships to support an abroad experience during or after your ut studies.

Both during and after completing your bachelor's or master's studies at UT, there are possibilities to go abroad with financial support. The scholarships below show the opportunities while studying at UT and also after your graduation (e.g. for a master's or PhD programme abroad).

Scholarships for during your UT studies

When you go abroad for courses, an internship or a graduation assignment, you may be eligible for a scholarship. This overview lists the scholarships available for during your UT studies.

  • The Erasmus+ Study Scholarship is available for UT students who will take courses at a partner university in one of the participating countries (within the EEA.)

  • The Erasmus+ Traineeship Scholarship is available for UT students who will do an internship/graduation (traineeship) abroad at a company, education centre, university, research centre, or other organisation in one of the participating countries (most within the EEA.)

  • With the Twente Mobility Fund (TMF), the UT offers financial support to all students who want to take courses, do an internship or graduate project abroad in a non-EEA country for 8 weeks or more.

  • The NL Scholarship (NLS) is a scholarship made available by the Dutch Ministry of Education Culture and Science and UT. It is for students who want to do courses, an internship or a graduation assignment outside the EEA.

  • The UT would like to reward students who put effort into promoting the UT abroad. Do you have the opportunity to make a name for UT abroad, or can you convince international students to study at UT? You could be rewarded a € 100 Student Ambassador Scholarship (SAS).

Scholarships for after your UT studies

If you wish to do a master or PhD abroad after your UT studies, you may be eligible for the following scholarships.

  • VSBfonds offers scholarships to students with Dutch nationality to study abroad after completing a bachelor or master degree. The scholarship is a maximum of €10,000 per person. For more information, visit VSBfonds Scholarship.

  • Please note that developments in the US Department of Education may affect application rounds for the Fullbright programme. Please check the Fullbright programme pages at the US’s Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for the latest information.

    The Fulbright NL Graduate Scholarship is for students who would like to do a master's degree in the US. In some cases, research is also possible. The grant amount is US $50,000 for one/ the first academic year, and the grant can be applied for in all fields of study. There is a grant available specifically focused on Global Health.   • The KHMW-Eizenga Scholarship is for students who would like to do a master's degree, MBA or PhD in economics in the US. The grant amount is US $50,000 for one/ the first academic year. The deadline is 7 April 2025. For further information (in Dutch), visit Fulbright
