BMS Lab receives Erasmus Plus Key Action 171 funding for exchange in 2025-2026.
This grant-funded collaboration between the University of Twente (UT) and Tashkent University of Information Technology (TUIT) aims to strengthen human capital, research methodologies, and scientific exchange through innovative, interdisciplinary research. It supports the internationalisation strategies of both institutions — UT’s High Tech, Human Touch philosophy and TUIT’s focus on technological solutions enriched by cultural diversity.
Research Focus
The project explores two key research lines of shared interest:
- Virtual Reality for Sustainability – developing immersive tools to engage with global sustainability challenges.
- AI-Powered Recommender Systems – integrating machine learning into mobile coaching via a questionnaire app.
A Unique Approach
By combining UT’s strengths in Virtual Reality and the TIIM questionnaire builder with TUIT’s expertise in energy systems and machine learning, the project creates a testbed for cutting-edge educational and research tools not available elsewhere.
Cross-Cultural Collaboration
This initiative emphasises and fosters cooperation with Central Asia and leverages the complementary knowledge of both universities. The partnership bridges diverse cultural perspectives, enabling deeper insights into global and regional challenges.
Impact and Outcomes
The project fosters skills development, career opportunities, and long-term capacity building. It promotes knowledge exchange and serves as a model for international academic collaboration with practical, real-world applications.
