The Research Data Management (RDM) Policy has been updated to reflect the current state of the art in RDM practices and latest developments at the UT. The policy was officially established by the Executive Board and is now in effect as of 12-02-2025. This policy aims to promote best practices for managing research data across the university, with the goal of fostering a culture where responsible and transparent research data management is at the forefront.
Key Highlights of the Updated Policy:
- Principles: The policy is based on core principles of research data management, including the adoption of the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles, public data classification, fostering a data-sharing culture, and provisions for third-party involvement.
- Regulations: The updated policy outlines regulations to promote effective research data management. Detailed practical information regarding each regulation are provided via embedded links under each section.
- Roles & Responsibilities: The roles and responsibilities section has been updated and expanded to include the formal recognition of the data steward role at UT, which was established in 2021/2022. This addition clarifies the responsibilities of various stakeholders in managing research data.
The updated policy is now available online. Researchers and relevant stakeholders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new policy and apply its principles and regulations to their research projects.
