If your research involves human subjects, because you collect personal data (e.g. interviews, surveys) it is very important that know about the rules for handling personal data. The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires researchers to provide clarity and transparency to data subjects about how they handle their personal data. In this session you will learn more about these privacy rules and the GPDR.

16:10 - 16:25 Meike van de Ven-Davids, Data Protection Officer (DPO) at the UT, will talk about when and how the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to scientific research.

16:25 - 16:35 Discussion, Q&A

16:35-16:50   Petri de Willigen, Privacy Contact Person of EEMCS Faculty, will talk about handling personal data in research and will present the new flowchart developed.

16:50-17:00   Discussion and Q&A
