Temporarily no open-access publishing free of charge in Springer journals (during December 2019) read more about your options

UTwente researchers can temporarily not publish open access free of charge in Springer journals. The maximum number of articles has been reached for 2019. Springer will not allow postponing your publication to January, so you need to complete the process in December. As of January 1, 2020, the option to publish open access at no additional cost will be re-activated.

So did you receive a message of Springer publisher informing you on the situation that your article is not eligible to publish open access under the Open Access agreement (publish OA without costs) with University of Twente, stating that you have to respond within 5 days? Then read below your options to help you with a quick decision and action

Your options:

1) either; still choose to publish Open Access, in exchange for an OA charge. In that case, we offer a max reimbursement in 2019 of 1500€ for your article. The remaining costs are for the department/your project. The OA charge needs to be paid by your department in 2019 and we refund the costs to a max of 1500€. For criteria check the news message on the BMS Open Access Fund 2019. *The requirements of the BMS OA Fund apply, except the fact that the journal doesn't have to be an OA journal.

2) or; choose not Open Access, and participate in the VSNU-project 'You share, we take care' (the Taverne-pilot). By choosing this, your article will be Open Access for free after 6 months on UT Research Information (RIS-Pure). Check how to participate in the Taverne-pilot.
