EL-IPS Annual Report 2023-2024: A Year of Innovation and Impact
In March 2023, the European Lab for Innovative Purchasing and Supply (EL-IPS) was launched at the University of Twente. Our dynamic hub of 30 researchers spans industrial buying, public procurement, health procurement, project delivery, and B2B marketing, all working together to drive societal impact through innovative procurement and supply management solutions.

What has been achieved in the past year?
- Educational Innovation:
- Built on past Erasmus+ projects PERFECT, PERSIST, and PERISCOPE to enhance BSc and MSc education. For more info on the EL-IPS site for the links.
- Focused on professional development with ongoing Erasmus+ projects like EXPERTISE, PRECIUS, and CustMaS.
- Key Collaborations:
- Partnered with universities like Saxion University of Applied Sciences and Hogeschool Windesheim to develop procurement curriculums and projects.
- Established connections with industry giants and governmental entities.
- Funding and Projects:
- Submitted over ten project proposals, with InnoHSupport (Horizon Europe) and HERCULES (Interreg) successfully awarded, focusing on healthcare innovation and procurement.
- Personnel Milestones:
- Two PhD students defended their theses.
- Welcomed new researchers, visiting scholars and another two PhD candidates, expanding our expertise and perspectives.
- Events and Networking:
- Hosted the official launch and inaugural lecture of Prof Dr Louise Knight.
- Organised a regional event with Nevi Oost on inflation management.
- Participated in global keynotes, workshops, and collaborations, including a unique agreement with the USP - Universidade de São Paulo CIEC Academy in Brazil.

- Pursue funding for revised and new project proposals.
- Focus on healthcare procurement, sustainable supply chains, and eco-sustainability through ongoing and new initiatives.
- Collaborations and Events:
- Plan events like the Oost Nederland Inkoop Congres and the IPTF conference in Brussels to promote European innovation procurement.
- Strengthen partnerships with universities, industry leaders, and public organisations to enhance research and practical applications.
- Expanding Influence:
- Increase engagement with our LinkedIn followers and online platforms to facilitate international collaborations, engage practitioners, and attract prospective students.
