Nathalie Holvoet

N. Holvoet holds a PhD in development economics and is a professor at the Institute of Development Policy and Management (University of Antwerp, Belgium). She has a long track record in academic teaching and training, research and policy advisory work in the areas of monitoring & evaluation and gender & development. Specific topics of research include gender budgeting, gender sensitivity of (aid, development and climate change) policies and institutions, intrahousehold decision-making and allocation. N. Holvoet has been involved in policy advisory work and evaluative exercises for the Belgian Directorate of Development Cooperation, Belgian Technical Cooperation, UN Women, UN Wider, Europeaid, ILO/ITC, Austrian Aid Agency, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc. She is/has been the promoter of several externally financed research projects and projects of interuniversity development cooperation in Tanzania and Uganda. N.
