SPC-team led by Olga Koshkina in collaboration with the team of X. Luís Deán-Ben (University of Zürich and ETH) have developed biobased capsules for optoacoustic imaging:
•Easy inverse emulsion process to encapsulate aqueous solution of clinically approved dye ICG in a protein shell
•Nanocapsules can be imaged in vivo in the mouse brain
•Microcapsules can be traced at a single-particle level
This work takes an important step towards super-resolution imaging. The article has been highlighted as a frontispiece.
