Pride Month at UT, Saxion and beyond
Each year, June is Pride Month! At UT and Saxion and in Enschede city, multiple interesting events are hosted. From gettogethers at Saxion and UT, to an inspiring and activating event by Amnesty Utwente, to an LGBTQ+ movie night, to a big party in the city! Amnesty's Pride Community Event, titled “Freaks of Joy, Rebels of Pride” is:
- A celebration of radical self-expression, queerness beyond labels, and reclaiming joy in resistance.
- Channeling circus and freak show aesthetics — not to exploit, but to reframe: queerness as spectacle, resilience as art, and strangeness as power.
Tue 10th of June: Watching the LGBTQ+ movie Baby
@ Concordia in Enschede city centre [19:30-21:30]
"The streets of São Paulo offer dangers, but also opportunities. Baby discovers both." When eighteen-year-old Wellington (Baby) is released from juvenile detention, he has nothing and no one to turn to except the streets of São Paolo. His parents have left without leaving their new address, and Baby has no means to build a new life on his own. During an exciting night, he meets Ronaldo, a man in his forties, who teaches him to become independent. Gradually, their relationship turns into a passionate love-hate relationship.
"De straten van São Paolo bieden gevaar, maar ook kansen. Baby vindt ze allebei." Wanneer de achttienjarige Wellington (Baby) wordt vrijgelaten uit het jeugddetentiecentrum heeft hij niets of niemand om op terug te vallen, behalve de straten van São Paolo. Zijn ouders zijn vertrokken zonder hun nieuwe adres achter te laten, en Baby heeft geen middelen om zelf een nieuw leven op te bouwen. Tijdens een enerverende nacht ontmoet hij Ronaldo, een veertiger, die hem leert zelfstandig te worden. Geleidelijk verandert hun relatie in een passionele haat-liefdeverhouding.

QRUSH is the new queer party in the east of the Netherlands, at a familiar location. A party for everyone, a party where you can and may be 100% yourself! What you can expect from us: drag queens, gogo dancers and great music. Our DJs play house and disco. You can regularly sing along. We also have some nice surprises during our DJs' party tunes. See you on the dance floor!
QRUSH is hét nieuwe queerfeest van Oost-Nederland, op een vertrouwde locatie. Een feest voor iedereen, een feest waar je 100% jezelf kan én mag zijn! Wat je van ons kunt verwachten: dragqueens, gogo dancers en lekkere muziek. Onze dj’s draaien house en disco. Ook kun je regelmatig lekker meeblèren. Daarnaast hebben we nog een aantal leuke verrassingen tijdens de party-deuntjes van onze dj’s. We zien je op de dansvloer!

On 27, 28 and 29 June 2025, the second edition of the Roze Filmfestival Enschede will take place: three days of films by and with the LGBTQ+ community, including talks with makers, a party and a delicious pink brunch. Concordia and Stonewall are joining forces to highlight the stories of the LGBTQ+ community with this festival, making them visible to a wide audience
Op 27, 28 en 29 juni 2025 vindt de tweede editie van het Roze Filmfestival Enschede plaats: drie dagen vol met films van en met de LHBTQ+ gemeenschap, inclusief gesprekken met makers, een feest en een heerlijke roze brunch. Concordia en Stonewall slaan de handen ineen om met dit festival de verhalen van de LHBTQ+ gemeenschap in de kijker te zetten en zo zichtbaar te maken voor een breed publiek
