News about technology in teaching and learning at the University of Twente.

Ready for interactive video?

We all know that a student watching an instructional video (even if it is a short one) is quite passive. This may not lead to the best possible learning result for the student. This is where interactive video comes in.

Interactive video means that we can enrich a video (e.g. with a quiz question) so the student gets actively engaged with the learning material. After answering the question, feedback can instantly be provided to further guide the student’s learning.HiHaHo logo

In 2017 we will be partnering with a Dutch company (HiHaHo) to investigate the benefits of interactive video for our lecturers and students. More information on HiHaHo can be found on our website.

We are organizing a hands-on workshop on how to use Hihaho, especially for lecturers, on 6 April 2017. You can get an account to start using HiHaHo on 6 April 2017 too. If you are seriously interested, just let us know!

Solution spotlight – ConTest

The University of Twente offers a service for automated processing and grading of multiple choice exams. This is provided by LISA.ConTest form

A big advantage of automated exam scanning is that you will save time on grading. And on top of that, you will get detailed reports as a lecturer. Please read more on the use of ConTest on our website.
