The physiology labs are designed to facilitate medical measurements on human subjects. These range from education-oriented experiments, where students gain hands-on experience with clinical equipment, to scientific studies within specialized research programs and clinical evaluations.
Facilities
The physiology labs consist of six research rooms suitable for groups of up to six participants, as well as two larger spaces where experiments can be conducted with groups of approximately twenty people. All rooms can be fully shielded from external influences and are flexibly configurable. Both classroom-based and small-group sessions can be conducted for training and experimentation involving clinical measurements.
Available equipment includes clinical ultrasound devices, EEG systems, and handheld Doppler units. In addition, specialized educational kits are available to teach the technical fundamentals of electrophysiological measurements in human subjects.
Ethical approval
In close collaboration with the local ethics committee for Natural Sciences and Engineering Sciences (NES), all research activities are subject to strict ethical oversight. Prior approval from the NES is required for any experiment involving human subjects in the physiology labs. This ensures that all studies are not only scientifically sound but also ethically responsible and professionally conducted.
