Take control of knee arthritis from your phone

Three-quarters of a million Dutch people live with knee arthritis, a condition that causes pain and stiffness in the knee joint. Due to fluctuating symptoms, it is difficult to manage them. We want to help people with knee arthritis take control of their health themselves.

What are we working on?

We are working on a user-friendly digital solution, such as an app, that alerts users when their knee is overloaded. This way, you can adjust your activities in time to prevent worsening symptoms.

In developing this tool, we involve people with knee osteoarthritis from the very beginning. Through workshops and group interviews, we map out the challenges they face and how the app can support them.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for people with knee arthritis who are willing to contribute ideas about the design and content of the digital tool. In group interviews, we will discuss your experiences, needs, and ideas. You will help us determine what is truly important in the app.

Who can participate and when?

  • You have knee osteoarthritis.
  • You are between 45 and 70 years old.

The group interviews will be held in:

  • Enschede (University of Twente)
  • Alkmaar (Noordwest Hospital Group)
  • Rotterdam (Erasmus MC)

We will plan a suitable date and location together.
