Relationship Between Personality Traits

More and more people are receiving treatment for mental health issues. Certain traits, such as self-criticism, shame, and self-compassion, can sometimes play a role in these issues. These traits can also influence each other, which makes treatment more challenging.

It's important to understand how these traits are related in order to improve treatments. That's why a survey has been created for this research to study personality traits.

What are we working on?

The Dimence Group and the University of Twente are conducting the first joint study in the Netherlands to explore the relationship between personality traits such as self-criticism, shame, and self-compassion.

The survey responses can help psychologists guide treatments for people who are struggling with life due to mental health problems. This includes people dealing with depression, burnout, or relationship issues. The goal of this research is to compare responses from people with and without mental health issues, to improve treatment methods in mental health care (GGZ).

What do we ask of you?

In this study, you will fill out an anonymous survey once. The questions are about how you think about certain matters or how you would react in different situations. Completing the survey takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

You will need a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection to participate.

The more people who complete the survey, the more accurately we can determine the relationship between these personality traits.

Who can participate and when?

The study runs from February 2024 to January 2025. Anyone in the Netherlands who is 18 years or older can participate, as long as you are proficient in the Dutch language.
