We are looking for a fulltime junior researcher or parttime postdoc at HMI for PIHC project on Steering into the flow - gamified spirometry for telemonitoring of childeren with asthma. You will be making the home monitoring of lung function more fun and efficient using gamification and (other) persuasive strategies.
Job Description: Based on knowledge from the other project partners, and a previous device of a master student, you will build a spirometry device that automatically sends the appropriate feedback and feedforward. To make the tests better suitable for home-monitoring you will also create a playful interaction and implement and test various metaphors.
(Almost) Graduated with basic level of understanding Dutch, (excellent is a bonus). You are capable of working with children. You can work independent, ask for help where needed, and can find your way in a team of multi-disciplinary researchers and students. You have skills in both in design and engineering, you can work with a game engine platform (e.g. Unity) as well as dealing with simple sensor systems using Arduino/Adafruit Feather etc. Furthermore, you have an interest in designing and realizing such interactive systems.

The position is for a period of 6 months, preferably full-time. Depending on relevant background and experience, the monthly salary on a full time basis starts at € 2.325,- gross per month.
