To expand and implement our marketing and communications strategy, we are looking for an experienced: 

Marketing Adviser for the Faculty of Engineering Technology

As a marketing adviser, you will contribute to the mission of the University of Twente. Your primary focus will be on strengthening and optimising the intake of Dutch and international students for the three Bachelor’s and five Master’s programmes of the Faculty of Engineering Technology (ET). The faculty comprises 2,600 students, 300 staff members and 150 PhD students in the field of Civil Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Your role

In this varied and rewarding position, you will serve as a sounding board on a variety of topics and for a variety of stakeholders, ranging from programme directors and marketing colleagues to students and administrators (at the faculty or university level).

You will serve as the first point of contact for the Faculty of Engineering Technology with regard to issues relating to marketing, which you will address on your own or in close cooperation with your marketing and communication colleagues within the ET Marketing and Communication team. Your work will involve the following and other topics: the positioning of existing and new educational programmes, online visibility and appropriate content for specific target groups. This content will be used in a variety of media, including campaigns, new Master’s programme sites, programme presentations and brochures (both print and digital). You will also organise events, including the semi-annual Open Days (on-site or online), in cooperation with the staff and students of the educational programmes, as well as with other marketers from the Marketing and Communication department.

Your profile

What you can bring to the table

You will base your recommendations and plans on knowledge of the target group, available data and your ow extensive experience. You are aware of and stay abreast of new developments in the marketing profession, and you know how to highlight USPs effectively to a variety of audiences. You love challenge and variety. You like to exchange ideas with others, and you know how to translate ideas into concrete marketing plans (both offline and online), which you are also eager to implement. You are sensitive to the organisation, pro-active, confident and strong-minded. You are a team player who draws connections between people and is capable of shifting between the interests of the faculty and those of the University of Twente as a whole.

 

At all times and in every situation, you will also be able to draw on your:

  • Extensive (five or more years) marketing experience
  • Enthusiasm, which you can use to involve your colleagues and internal clients in new ideas and to make them excited about them.
  • Entrepreneurial character: you are bold, with a keen eye for opportunities and a willingness to take the initiative.
  • Self-critical attitude and desire to learn: You want to continue developing as a person and as a professional, and you know your strengths and points for improvement.
  • You have an excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

We will offer you a varied and challenging position, with plenty of opportunities for training and personal development. The contract is for a period of one year, with potential renewal thereafter. The gross monthly salary based on full-time employment is between €2,790 and €4,402. This is consistent with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
