We are happy to announce that we have been awarded by Nuffic with a grant for the Orange Knowledge Programme - Tailor-Made Training "Learning & development for a Sustainable future for refugees & host communities to promote co-existence and Socio-Economic Development'.
The overall objective of this project is to contribute to increased quality education and vocational training for refugees and internally displaced persons and host communities in Jordan and Lebanon. Specifically, this project aims to Train the Trainers at requesting organisations to enable them remove barriers on student pathways to and during tertiary education. This pathway model consists of providing support to refugees and host communities before (providing access opportunities) and during tertiary education and helping them link better with the labour market.
ET Faculty and BE Link Academy will develop and implement customized training programs based on the needs of the requesting organisations. The subjects to be addressed are among others: 1) Organizational development; 2) Curriculum development; 3) Digital Economy; 4) Entrepreneurship & Innovation; 5) Youth Innovation Lab: for learning & development; 6) Gender issues and psychological issues of refugees, IDPS and radicalised youth and; 7) Linking with the private sector and building sustainable relationships. We will apply the project-based-learning approach, on-job coaching and back-to-homework methods to ensure that the gained knowledge are applied. At the end of the project a comparison study will be carried-out to analyse and report the progress and lessons learned between the two cases of Jordan and Lebanon. Yarmouk University (The Refugees, Displaced Persons and Forced Migration Studies Centre) and The National Institution of Social Care and Vocational Training (NISCVT) are involved as partner institutions. The overall budget of the project is € 531.778.
