Quieter skies, greener designs.
The Flow Physics, Aerodynamics and Aeroacoustics team at the University of Twente tackles noise and emissions at their source. We pair world‑class wind‑tunnel experiments—including silent, anechoic and high‑speed facilities—with advanced flow‑analysis and optimisation algorithms. This powerful combination lets us uncover the fundamental mechanics of flow‑induced sound and unsteady aerodynamics, then translate that insight into better models, design tools and active‑control strategies. By bridging rigorous science and industrial practice, we deliver quieter aircraft, cleaner propulsion systems and more efficient energy technologies—helping to build a healthier, more sustainable society.
