Do you sometimes wonder to where "our" students go? Here is one answer. Sebastiaan ten Pas, who graduated on aerodynamic calculations for wind turbines at the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Lab (NLR) under supervision of Arne van Garrel UT) and Jaap van Muiden (NLR) continued his career in aerodynamics and now works for the Aston Martin Formula I team.
Even though at present the hegemony of the Red Bull team with drivers Verstappen and Perez is obvious, but, in their wake, near and further significant battles are fought and major efforts are made to come up to par, where many engineers are involved in areas ranging from aerodynamics to lubrication. In the Dutch GP at Zandvoort, held on August 27th, the Aston Martin team with driver Fernando Alonso finished second. This was a major success for the team.
It is great to see "our" Sebastiaan holding the runner-up Trophy of the Dutch GP 2023.
