Exceptional work of 1st TOM graduate ME

Last Friday Björn Nijhuis graduated. He was the first TOM graduate at Mechanical Engineering (MSc.) Because of his exceptional work, Björn received a 10 for his graduation work and graduated cum laude.

Björn graduated from the department Nonlinear Solid Mechanics on the subject 'Scope and limitations of gradient enhanced crystal plasticity in explaining macroscopic phenomena', led by graduation professor Ton van den Boogaard and daily supervisor Semih Perdahcioglu.

From 1 October Björn will start PhD research into the efficient modelling of 3D metal printing at the chair Nonlinear Solid Mechanics.

We congratulate Björn with this great result.
