Field trip to Waterloopbos & Giethoorn
Join us on a guided excursion on April 15 to two remarkable locations in the Netherlands: Waterloopbos and Giethoorn. The trip will depart from Enschede in the morning and return in the afternoon.
Waterloopbos: Explore the historical Waterloopbos, a unique forest that once hosted hydrodynamic research. During the guided tour, you will visit the remains of open-air laboratories, including those related to the Delta Works, as well as research conducted for water systems in locations such as Lagos and Bangkok. This quiet and historically significant site offers a fascinating insight into the development of Dutch water management engineering.

Giethoorn: Known as the "Venice of the North," Giethoorn is renowned for its picturesque canals and charming thatched-roof houses. You will first enjoy a relaxing lunch in the village, followed by a guided boat tour through the tranquil canals. Afterward, you’ll have time to explore the serene streets at your own pace.
