Transport Reviews awarded the 2022 Moshe Givoni Prize to Dr Konstantinos Gkiotsalitis and Dr Oded Cats for their joint paper entitled: “Public transport planning adaption under the COVID-19 pandemic crisis: literature review of research needs and directions”. This paper was published in the third issue of 2021 (volume 41, issue 3), and was an outstanding contribution to the Journal as it provides an overview of literature on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on public transport use, and its risk of virus transmission. Furthermore, the paper also identifies intervention measures that can support public transport service providers to safely increase ridership after the pandemic to pre-COVID levels. This paper has already received a lot of attention (with more than 40,000 views and 42 CrossRef citations in 14 months) and is likely to be an important document for public transport researchers and operators in the coming years. Currently, it is the 4th most-read article in the journal’s records.
