Assignment no: 2023-4

Start of the project: ASAP

Required course(s)/ skills: -

Involved organisation(s): UT-ET-CEM-TP; Mobycon

The challenges posed by housing, accessibility, and climate call for a fresh perspective on mobility. Particularly in urban areas, a shift from car ownership to car sharing and other alternative modes of transport is taking place. The success of shared mobility hinges on the willingness of end-users to embrace this change in behaviour. Therefore, understanding the needs of the target group and finding ways to entice potential users to adopt shared mobility is crucial. At our organization, we firmly believe in a people-oriented mobility system. The primary objective is to develop a suitable, sustainable, and reliable mobility solution tailored to the needs of the target audience, with shared mobility being a potential component. To effectively integrate shared mobility, it is imperative to ascertain the level of receptiveness among existing and potential users and explore methods to encourage its adoption. The findings will play a vital role in shaping our approach and ensuring a user-centred and sustainable mobility system for the future.

Research objective

The task is to utilize panel research to gain insights into the willingness of potential end users to adopt shared mobility, the types of shared mobility they are open to, and how to encourage them to utilize these shared mobility options. Additionally, the questionnaire will include other mobility-related inquiries, such as topics on the mobility transition, mobility behaviour, participation, and challenges people face regarding mobility. This research project serves as a follow-up of a study conducted in 2022. The study's main components are as follows:

The study aims to contribute valuable insights into the acceptability of shared mobility and will serve as a basis for shaping mobility solutions that align with user preferences and requirements. By building upon the previous study, you will be able to expand knowledge and offer further refinements to optimize the research process. Through your efforts, we aim to develop a people-centric and sustainable mobility system that effectively meets the needs of the target audience and addresses various mobility-related challenges.
