Marie-Colette van Lieshout appointed as professor in Spatial Stochastics

On Februari 1st, Marie-Colette van Lieshout will start as professor in Spatial Stochastics. She obtained her MSc and PhD degrees in mathematics and statistics from Free University Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

From 1994 to 1997 she held a position as lecturer in the Statistics Department at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. In 1997 she moved to CWI Amsterdam to take up a position as researcher. She is the author of a textbook on Markov point processes. Her research interests focus on spatial stochastics, stochastic geometry and image interpretation.
