Mirije van Dijk is the new Managing Director on the Faculty Board of EEMCS. She will introduce herself:
Dear colleagues,
Monday September 2nd was my first day as managing director for the EEMCS faculty. It was great meeting new colleagues and getting to know the UT and specifically EEMCS. In the afternoon I joined the opening of the Academic Year at the Wilmink Theatre in Enschede. It is great to see new and returning students bringing the campus back to live after the summer break.
A little bit more about my background: After my initial training as a physical therapist, and a few years working in several hospitals, I moved to the USA. During my stay there I worked as a manager in the corporate health field. Upon returning to the Netherlands I started as a regional director for a large child care organization and the last 9,5 years I worked at Medisch Spectrum Twente in different roles. In all these roles I enjoyed collaborating with all the different departments and specifically all kinds of different people.
The last two years I have attended classes to get my master’s degree in business administration and I’m happy to say that I just got word that my thesis was accepted. The colloquium is scheduled for the beginning of October. Finishing this MBA means that I’ll be able to spend more time with my husband and two children (ages 21 and 15) and that I have more time to play volleyball matches with my team and sing in the ECOK Concert Choir.
I’m looking forward to meeting you and hope you’ll stop by and introduce yourself when you have a chance (Zilverling room 1074).
Sincerely,
Mirije
